What To Wear On A First Date

Many daters are confused as to what to wear on a first date. Actually it is not so complex as you think, but yes first impression is the best impression. So what you wear on your first date has its importance.

If you read the article on first dating tips you will learn that dressing properly is very important aspect of dating. Instead of beating around the bush lest get straight into the topic - What to wear on a first date?

Let’s go from top to bottom of a human body.

1) Hair:

For women – Keep it neat and in place. Comb well. Wear a hair band if you use it often. There is no need to show that your hair is beautiful – you will have enough time for that. Remember this is your first date – so keep it simple.

For men: Comb your hair well. Men have this habit of leaving hairs as it is after bath or combing through their fingers. No, don’t do it. Shampoo - Use a comb and apply some gel to make sure your hairs are in place and look good.

2) Face:

For women – Face is important for both – girl and boy. It is the face and eyes that we look into each other while talking. Your face should look clean. Use a good face wash and apply a good cream. This is important – don’t do too much make-up. Slight foundation and some cream is ok. Whether you a good looking or not, don’t bother about it. Just keep a clean face and you will feel confident on your first date. Apply lipstick, preferably red colored as men are attracted towards red. Wear a nice set of earrings. They help to give you that woman like feeling.

For men – Shave if you do not keep beards. Clean shave will give a good impression. Even if you keep beards, trim/cut them nicely to look smart. Clean your face with a face wash. (Don’t be under the impression that face wash are meant only for women. A face wash is made to wash our faces – it doesn’t have any gender attached to it.) A clean face will make you feel good.

3) Dress – Clothes to wear:

For women – Wear what you are most comfortable in. Do not follow the fashion trends blindly. If you wear something that you can’t carry on well, and just because it’s the latest fashion, your guy is not going to get impressed at all. Read this and this.

Don’t wear a too much revealing dress. It might send wrong signal to your man. Men are too eager to have sex. Wearing a revealing dress will make them think that you are interested in getting physical too. Research carried out by Leeds University in the UK shows that women who exposed only 40% of their flesh were found to be most attractive to men.

If you are exposing your shoulders, then cover your legs, or if you have great legs – show them but cover your shoulders. You know where to draw the line.

Too high heels are too provocative – avoid them.

Big and oversized jewelry are a big no.

Designer labels are costly and don’t deserve a wear at least for the first meeting. You are not there to show-off your wardrobe. You decide.

For Men – The classy t-shirt and Jeans is best even for the first date. Don’t try to dress over-smartly. Neat, clean and casual look is the best. Avoid suits and ties. But you should look smart. Colors: Wear what suits you best. But if possible wear anything on black, blue, gray or dark gray.

4) Shoes:

For women – Avoid stilettos – they look too sexy. Wear a comfortable shoe that complements your height. If you are short, slight heel is ok. Make sure the shoe goes well with your dress.

For Men – Not much to say here except that wear comfortable and clean shoes.

5) Accessories:

If you usually wear an accessory, then do wear them, else don’t try something new on that special day. You may not feel comfortable and it will take away a lot of your attention.
